A Natural Farm and Educational Center

I discovered this charming garden center near the Howey Mansion on a recent visit to Howey-in-the-Hills. A Natural Farm and Educational Center was founded in 2012 by French born Luc & Sonia Duytsche. The couple was inspired to create a natural, chemical free garden center by Luc's background at a Lake Country tree farm and at several other plant nurseries. A Natural Farm and Educational Center specializes in edible and medicinal plants. They have many varieties of fruit trees, berries, olive trees, avocado, carambola, coconut palms, banana trees, papaya, ginger and turmeric plants, fig, guava, dragon fruit, and so much more. It was really fun to explore so many unusual plants like Okinawa spinach and comfrey which can be used to treat bruises, osteoarthritis, sprains, and other conditions. The farm also has an indoor area where they offers free and low cost educational classes for both children and adults on topics such as sustainable farming, gardening and plant production. Their fruits trees are beatiful,good price,good knowledge,and willing to help customers.I bought and avocado tree,a lemon tree,and two Valencia oranges trees,they look great!!! I recently purchased four olive trees from this farm, and I couldn’t be happier! The trees look absolutely beautiful — strong, healthy, and clearly well cared for. Victoria, who helped us place the order, was fantastic to work with. She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient throughout the whole process. It’s clear she truly knows her plants and cares about her customers. Highly recommend this farm to anyone looking for high-quality trees and excellent customer service!

Amazing variety(I was in heaven with the mango and avocadovarieties), supper helpful, very knowledgeable about the plants they have. Even after my purchase they replied to my questions when I got the plants home and was unsure of some things. Totally recommend them even if you are a bit far. I drove from Miami. Luc and Sonia have an out of this world nursery!

After my second visit this past Saturday with my DIL, I think we're going to need bigger yards! We filled her truck with treasures for both our food forests, and also learned how to care for and maintain our new plants/trees. Everyone at A Natural Farm is super friendly and helpful. I've never seen such a wide variety of selections, with really reasonable prices–especially for hard to find plants. Very thankful to have this absolute gem in our area!

A Natural Farm is THE plant nursery in the state of Florida — there’s a lot of great nurseries in the state, but when I compile plant availability, diversity, knowledge, education (lots of workshops!), support, size options, location (middle of the state), etc. — they set the standard. They truly are a one stop shop to turn your property into an edible paradise. Luc is soooo knowledgeable. Sonia is so sweet. As a food forest installer of The Grow Food Company — this is my nursery I go to.

Came here for the first time today and our family had the best time! Everyone was friendly and super knowledgeable! Their prices are really reasonable and they have SO many species of plants in various sizes and varieties! I only wish we had found them sooner. Drove an hour and plan to come back again soon!

Absolutely amazing experience, totally worth a trip! Being able to just wander around for a while and explore all the different trees, plants, etc. was so nice…then stumbling into the old (10 years) plantings and seeing what an avocado tree would look like a decade from now, was a gift and worth the visit just to hang out there! Prices were extremely reasonable and staff was friendly with a “happy to impart knowledge” aspect of the sales experience. They earned our business and hope they are around for many years to come!
